Daughter and mother in Minnesota

Susan and I had a blessed trip to St. Olaf. We left Thursday, the 23rd of February and returned with Cal, who met us for the second weekend, on the 6th of March. So many wonderful providences throughout the trip: a good flight and lots of fun between us, safety in the air and on the road, a comfortable car to rent for the week; many new and solid friends through her new church in Farmington Christ Presbyterian PCA, including her new "adoptive" parents who are scarily like Cal and me and who own $800. speakers and twice Susan's classical music collection and sit around to listen to music, a sound preaching pastor, and a family of eight little siblings who already love her; a good audition and a scholarship award sufficient to her need; and meeting at least one student who is a solid believer and who told her of several venues of true fellowship on campus. My heart is settled. In answer to the Keister's question about how she would manage to not be influenced by the many deadly influences at the school, she encouraged my heart by listing her defenses. First, the Word. Second, prayer. Third, their fellowship and the community of saints. She said she realized how important would be the little daily decisions: that it was by small degrees that one falls. How gracious of our God to give us a firm knowledge ahead of our need of His provisions. I pray that her time in Northfield will be a blessing to the Church, to her own soul, and to the many lives she will touch. Thank you for your prayers.
