Patrimony

This morning while watching AJ read the first chapter of Ruth to us I was distracted momentarily with mirth to see that he was wearing a tie around the open neck of his light blue polo shirt. It reminded me of the fellows in the warehouse at the publisher that "dressed up" one day, coming in their jeans and tee shirts, but all wearing ties.

Ever since the mini mid-March tie tying seminar in the mirrored hallway of our bedroom, this kid of twelve is very proud of the fact that he now knows how to tie a tie, and once a week just ain't enough.
