Happy New Year!
Late last April Cal and I visited Faith PCA, Tacoma where I picked up a copy of Robert Murray McCheyne's Bible Reading Calendar. It has been my blessing to follow this calendar ever since, God granting me grace to persevere. How cool today to end the year with the last chapters of 2 Chronicles, Malachi, John, and the Revelation. I look forward to the year ahead and wanted to suggest the calendar to you, as well.
Please read McCheyne's introduction to his particular menu of our Daily Bread. And may God bless you with His powerful Word which He honors even above His own Holy Name!

This morning I read only the Ezra 1 passage. I'll read the Acts 1 passage tonight. Cal's planning to follow the McCheyne plan with the family worship which we are re-expanding to twice daily again this year. Since I read only this one passage, Ezra 1:5 stood out to me and becomes a prayer for the Church for 2010:
"Then the heads of the fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, with all whose spirits God had moved, arose to go up and build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem."
May God move the hearts of the fathers in our churches this year to build His house through careful study of the Word this year!
