Releasing Susan
Dear Susan,
I don't suppose I'm dying. I don't even think I'm dying. But just to be superstitious, I wanted you to know that my parting words to you "go to St. Olaf" are not a dying wish, but only a release to follow where the Lord leads you. All our children (I speak for Cal and me) should know that whatever wishes, thoughts, or commands we put upon your shoulders should be weighed in light of Scripture. Though today we see that He is leading you to St. Olaf, perhaps tomorrow or in two years, He would lead you away. Live for Christ. To die is gain. And may I raise Grace to maturity and see my children's children praising God.
(Okay, I'm a nut.)
